Panelists include Joann Harris, assistant director in the Enforcement Division of the SEC, and Dorsey Baskin, managing partner with Grant Thornton LLP. Participants will be eligible to receive 1 hour of CPE credit.
Presenters: Joann Harris Joann Harris is an Assistant Director in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Fort Worth Regional Office. During her tenure with the SEC, she has worked on a wide range of enforcement investigations and served as a member of one of the Division’s specialized units, the Asset Management Unit. Prior to joining the SEC, Joann worked in Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr’s corporate and securities group in Dallas. Before beginning her legal career, Joann practiced public accounting for several years at Arthur Andersen LLP and KPMG LLP. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas and her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law. He has served the profession through membership in numerous committees and task forces of the AICPA, including currently serving on the Assurance Services Executive Committee, the Sustainability Task Force, Conflict Minerals Task Force and the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Task Force. Dorsey has a bachelor’s degree in Physics and an MBA from Texas A&M University. He is Treasurer and on the Executive Committee of the Board of Dallas Summer Musicals and on the board of the Grant Thornton Foundation. He is also co-editor of Current Issues in Auditing, a journal of the American Accounting Association. |
